delicious desert

I stumbled across this delicious desert on my favorite site, pinterest. I took the plunge and tried to make it, simple easy!

Triple Delicious Desert

1st- make a batch of cookies, spread in the bottom of a pan. Full batch for 11 by 9 or half a batch for 8 by 8.
*Spray pan with pam or else line it with wax paper to prevent sticking

2nd- lay oreo cookies on top of the cookie dough

3rd- make a package of brownies, spread on top of orero's. familie size for 11 by 9 or half a box for 8 by 8.

Make at 375 degrees F for about 40 minutes. Test with the toothpick test. :)

To eat: eat them warm, fresh from oven or heat in microwave then add ice cream....Delicious!

jealous feeling

i wouldn't admit this to many people, but it's something i'm feeling. i'm so jealous of seeing other teachers in their classrooms preparing for the upcoming school year. i know some teachers may think i'm crazy for saying that and probably thinking i should enjoy my time at home with my little one....but i can't help it. i'm envious of them. i'm constantly finding new ideas and things i want to use to have in my classroom one day. i think it's part of the teacher in me, that this time of the year get's me excited and wants to be in a classroom. i want to be able to teach to kids and see them grow in the same school year. i think i will have a hard time subbing because you don't get to see that growth, your with this class one day and another class another day....which doesn't allow you to continuous teach the same students. i'm hopeful i will surprise myself with what i can learn while i'm subbing.

i found this website that has $40 free to use, just pay shipping the whole month of august. you can use the coupon over and over....i'm going to order a notebook from this place and write down all the things i'm learning while subbing. ideas i want to remember and things that don't work so well.

This is the start of our house, no where near finished! This winter we will be pulling out 9 trees in our back yard. Next summer we will be taking our this fence and putting in a new fence.

Things I'd like to work on/fix up.

-Upstairs bathroom

-Add on to deck, or make another lower level that goes into a play area

-Fence/back yard

-Gutters

-Downstairs living room area. If we stay here for a long time and need more bedrooms we will add a 4th bedroom.

-New windows sometime....

-New kitchen table sometime...

-That is all for now :)

welcome wagon

the welcome wagon came to visit us. whenever a new family or person moves to town there is this committee who brings you a welcome bag. i would say it would be very useful for anyone who is new town. this welcome bag has many goodies, coupons, brochures...ect.. for different places all over town. even for me, a local, there are some new business i didn't even know about until i looked through this bag. who would of ever thought a small town like roseau has three different business that has scrapbook materials?? i personaly think one of them should close and they could open a caribou coffee :) there was a really neat paper that a local teacher wrote. this teacher has not been teaching here very long, as she wasn't teaching when i was here. the story was about her journey here, not knowing one person and how much they (her husband and her) have feel in love with this community and it's their home now. they have three kids. i also learned from this welcome wagon why roseau community slogan "feels like home" was created or the meaning behind it. it had something to do with people who have left roseau and then have moved back...how it's like they have never even left and they feel at home once they return. or for new people in town....it's how they feel once they arrive here. pretty sweet i thought :) however i'm sure there are some people who do not believe it feels like home. if you want to learn more about roseau here is one of the links...

jobs

with going zero for four in job positions in the roseau school district, i'm wondering if anyone knows what god wants me to do this next year? i'm taking it as a sign from god i'm not suppose to have my own classroom this year, which makes me sad, but curious to what god has planned for me??

zummmmba

wow, is zumba something new to me. on monday night i attended the zumbathong in town, a fundraiser for the american cancer society. i must say this was a new work for me. while we were doing zumba my knees started hurting and the next day the back of my legs were sore in a way they are not usually sore. i would guess there was about 40-50 people who attended this fundraiser. it's def. something i will try again or take part in. :)

independence day is one of my favorite holiday

for independence day we headed east to lake of the woods for the holiday. we have had a fourth of july party at my parents cabin for 20+ years with all of our local family. it's been a great tradition and each year brings new memories. last year we washed hair in the lake for the first time, this year we had a very intense garage volleyball game that lasted about 2 + hours between heidi, mike, ken, ryan and me. we went to warroad to enjoy their fourth of july parade (audrey got an ice cream cone during the parade) and visit with some family that was camping there. kenneth had a baseball game that evening in warroad, which they lost. i say the game was some what a disaster as it it had a weather delay (ugly weather).

my favorite thing about this holiday is the fact of doing nothing. waking up each morning, sitting on the deck with some coffee, and "just watching the lake." while at the lake i asked mike....what are you doing? he replied with just watching the lake and it was like omgosh that is all we do here....just sit on the deck and watch the lake. oh course the weekend wasn't compeletl with some bean bag, boche ball, and card games.
