the welcome wagon came to visit us. whenever a new family or person moves to town there is this committee who brings you a welcome bag. i would say it would be very useful for anyone who is new town. this welcome bag has many goodies, coupons, brochures...ect.. for different places all over town. even for me, a local, there are some new business i didn't even know about until i looked through this bag. who would of ever thought a small town like roseau has three different business that has scrapbook materials?? i personaly think one of them should close and they could open a caribou coffee :) there was a really neat paper that a local teacher wrote. this teacher has not been teaching here very long, as she wasn't teaching when i was here. the story was about her journey here, not knowing one person and how much they (her husband and her) have feel in love with this community and it's their home now. they have three kids. i also learned from this welcome wagon why roseau community slogan "feels like home" was created or the meaning behind it. it had something to do with people who have left roseau and then have moved back...how it's like they have never even left and they feel at home once they return. or for new people in town....it's how they feel once they arrive here. pretty sweet i thought :) however i'm sure there are some people who do not believe it feels like home. if you want to learn more about roseau here is one of the links...

independence day is one of my favorite holiday
my favorite thing about this holiday is the fact of doing nothing. waking up each morning, sitting on the deck with some coffee, and "just watching the lake." while at the lake i asked mike....what are you doing? he replied with just watching the lake and it was like omgosh that is all we do here....just sit on the deck and watch the lake. oh course the weekend wasn't compeletl with some bean bag, boche ball, and card games.
